Connecting young people with Type 1 Diabetes through science

ISLET is an EU-funded Horizon 2020 project that aims to make advanced stem cell therapy for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) available in everyday healthcare.

IDF Europe is the European branch of the International Diabetes Foundation, who aim to reduce the prevalence of diabetes, improve the quality of life for people living with diabetes, and increase the voice of people living with diabetes in healthcare conversations.

In 2022, a dialogue was established between scientists in ISLET and IDF Europe's YOURAH group of young people living with diabetes. These conversations explored ways of broadening the understanding of scientific research conducted by ISLET, and to provide the scientists with insight into the experience of living with diabetes. This post reflects some of the main areas of discussion.
