Huntington's Disease

Huntington’s Disease (HD) is a genetically inherited neurodegenerative disorder. It typically causes impaired movement, emotional changes, and cognitive decline. There are currently no effective treatments available. Scientists are using stem cells to model HD in the lab, to understand how it progresses, and to test new drugs, gene therapies and other treatments. Other researchers are investigating whether neural stem cell transplants could be used to repair damaged brain tissue.
