Muscular Dystrophy

Muscular Dystrophies are a group of genetic diseases which cause the progressive deterioration of heart and skeletal muscle. Scientists are investigating how muscle could be restored or even repaired by transplanting donor cells or genetically modifying an individual’s own cells.
